In tranquil North Iceland, you will find the only beer spa experience in Iceland. If you love hot tub and beer, this is your heaven.

Upon arrival, you will see two pretty cool black container-style like buildings. The spa section is located on the left-hand side. Once you checked in at the reception, you will be guided to the female or male changing room. You may use the lockers there to keep your valuables.

After quickly rinsing yourself in the changing room, you will be guided to your private room. There are seven tubs in total, one in each private room. These beautiful tubs in the private room are made with Kambala wood. You can enjoy the beer bath for around 25 mins, either on your own or as a couples bath. The bathtub is pretty spacious for 2 people.

So, why beer spa?

You will be bathing in young beer, live beer yeast, hops, water, beer oil, and beer salt. It is cleansing for your hair and skin and has a revitalizing and softening effect on skin and hair. The beer bath is non-alcoholic as it is in an early stage of fermentation with very low pH, so you don’t have to worry about alcoholic allergy.

Don’t worry! You are not drinking the beer you’re soaked in. Haha…that would be pretty gross. There is a beer draught at every tub, so you can drink as much as you want as long as you are over 20 years old! Baths temperature is around 37 to 39 degree so it is pretty warm.

I am not a beer person, but the beer is pretty tasty. The beer is Kaldi beer, which is light and mild. It is pretty fun to get your beer directly from the beer draught!

Cheers!

The Kaldi beer brewery is just located just next door. You can arrange a brewery tour to see the production. Kaldi beer is Icelandic beer, brewed by century-old Czech method, which is unpasteurized, without preservatives and added sugar. You can learn more about Kaldi beer here.

After that, you will be guided to upstair, in a big dark relaxation room. You will be wrapped with nice blankets around your body (a bit like a mummy lol), and rest laying down on a bed, with calming music playing in the background. It is a great place to do meditation, however, it was so comfortable that you could fell asleep without knowing.

There are two hot tubs with normal water and an outside sauna in a cute wooden hut. From the hot tubs, you can enjoy the picturesque Northern Iceland environment, snow-capped mountains with a great view over Hrísey island and Þorvalds valley. It is not recommended to shower the next 4 hours after the beer spa so that your hair and skin have time to replenish and rejuvenate. Thus, it is best to use the hot tubs outdoor before you start the beer bath inside.

After a chilling spa experience, you can move to the restaurant just next door, where delicious food is waiting for you. I still remember how fantastic the Kaldi burger was! It was super juicy, made from 100% Icelandic beef, extremely tasty! Icelandic knows how to make great burgers.

You can easily spend a half-day here just to chill and relax. I highly recommend this spa experience in North Iceland!
